Disappointing! Although Bruce! I watched it on TV just for Bruce "the god" Willis; even if Andie MacDowell could've been one more reason. It's not the worst movie with my hero that I saw (this was certainly The Kid), but far away of some great wonderful movies he was in, like Die Hard for example. It's supposed to be funny by moments, but didn't make me laugh; too dumb, weird, complicated... The couple Mayflower is so annoying. The idea to use songs to time the thefts is good; sadly not enough used.

Considering the comedies that have huge followings and franchises and yet Hudson Hawk is considered a flop. Go Figure! Maybe it's due to the lack of d!ck and fart jokes. (Sorry Kevin Smith I know you love those but a Willis fan yourself and you didnt like this?!). Thanks to flixter I've discovered my family & I are not the only ones on he planet that love this movie. There are so many quirky fun things about this movie, if you haven't seen it, do it. And Mr Willis, I'll play Nintendo with you ;)

This must be the worst movie starring Bruce Willis I've seen so far. It's attempting to be funny but it never succeeds in becoming a comedy. It's neither a thriller. It's so worthless. The only thing I enjoyed was the first robbing scene. From that scene the level went quickly down. Not even Andie MacDowell could save this flick.

Though some tell Bruce Willis is misplaced to get in this movie, and the others tell that its a silly movie to see.. But i do like this movie, he's great in this movie.. Though sometimes its look lyk a ridiculous comedy.. Its amusing.. and Entertaining in some scenes.. Michael Lehmann directed this post-modernist hash of To Catch a Thief and The Naked Gun starring Bruce Willis as Hudson Hawk, a cat burglar who wants to go straight, but the circumstances won't allow it. The story begins in a pre-credit sequence that takes place in the renaissance. Leonardo Da Vinci (Stefano Molinari) is rushing through his Mona Lisa painting to work on his latest invention -- a machine to turn lead into bronze. But Da Vinci makes a mistake and, instead of bronze, the machine turns the lead into gold. Realizing the danger of his invention if the contraption gets into the wrong hands, he hides three parts of the apparatus inside three of his other works. Four hundred years later, Hudson Hawk, the world's greatest cat burglar, is being released from jail after pulling a ten-year stretch. He wants to retire from the profession of cat burglary and drink some cappuccino, but two screwball billionaires -- Darwin and Minerva Mayflower (Richard E. Grant and Sandra Bernhard) -- won't let him. Their nefarious plot is to steal the three Da Vinci works, restore Da Vinci's gold-making machine, and destroy the world's monetary system. They blackmail Hawks into working with them to steal the Da Vincis by threatening the life of Hawks's pal Tommy Five-Tone (Danny Aiello). Along with the power-mad billionaires, Hawks has to deal with the CIA, in the person of George Kaplan (James Coburn), breathing down his neck. He also has Vatican art restorer Anna Baragli (Andie MacDowell) falling for his smirk.

Time for me to come out of the closet: I really dig this film. I dug it when I saw it on opening day, and I still dig it now. Sure, it's chaotic, ridiculous, borderline insane and prone to odd digressions, but for all these reasons and the good stuff-- rapid pacing, ingenious characters and situations, Sinatra songs, a cast that actually looks like they're having fun (which, considering the production problems this had, is quite an achievement)-- I think it's actually a true original. You'll never see a $65 million movie quite like this one ever again, and I know that people on both sides of the ideological fence will think that's a good thing.
